Habit Burger Opens Second Tri-Cities Location in Kennewick
KENNEWICK, WASHINGTON — Another big fast-casual burger company is expanding in the Tri-Cities, with Habit Burger & Grill set to launch its second local restaurant in Kennewick this week.
The new location at 7415 W. Canal Drive opens May 20, bringing the California-based chain’s signature charburgers and flame-grilled menu into one of the region’s busiest retail corridors.
What’s New
Habit Burger’s Kennewick store is the chain’s second in the Tri-Cities, following its debut in Richland’s Queensgate district in 2021.
The new restaurant takes over part of a former David’s Bridal building near Columbia Center, continuing the rapid commercial growth happening around the shopping and entertainment area.
Habit Burger is planned a full grand opening ceremony on May 20th, starting at 10:30 a.m.
The first 500 customers will receive a $20 Flavor Pass to explore the menu, while the first 100 guests will get branded Habit Burger tote bags filled with promotional items.
The restaurant will also conduct a fundraiser preview night on May 19 to benefit Columbia Ability Alliance, bringing a community-focused element before the formal debut.
Menu & Experience (with POV)
Habit Burger’s reputation is built on made-to-order chargrilled foods cooked over an open flame.
The menu includes:
- Charburgers and classic burgers
- Tri-tip steak sandwiches
- Chicken sandwiches
- Sushi-grade ahi tuna sandwiches
- Fresh salads, shakes, fries, and malts
That mix gives the chain a slightly broader identity than a standard burger spot. It still operates in the fast-casual category, but the menu is more diverse and personalized.

From my perspective, that’s part of why Habit Burger has continued growing steadily. It appeals to traditional burger customers while still offering options that feel slightly more elevated than basic fast food.
And in a region like Kennewick, where national brands are expanding into new retail zones, flexibility is important.
Community Buzz
There is already a lot of buzz about the opening, especially since the Columbia Center neighborhood is quickly becoming one of the Tri-Cities’ most popular dining and shopping locations.
New chain openings in this part of Kennewick tend to generate strong early traffic, particularly when giveaways and opening promotions are involved.
Habit Burger also has existing regional recognition due to its Richland location, so many customers know what to anticipate.
At the same time, the chain still feels somewhat newer compared to larger national burger brands, which gives openings like this a bit more novelty.

Final Thoughts
Habit Burger’s Kennewick expansion demonstrates how swiftly the Tri-Cities food sector is expanding.
By adding another recognizable fast-casual brand to the Columbia Center area, the city is steadily building a more diverse mix of dining options that blend national chains with local favorites.
And with grand opening marketing already garnering attention, this site is expected to be busy from the outset.
If you’re in the Tri-Cities, this is one opening worth checking out early — especially if you’ve never tried a charburger fresh off the grill.
